Waitlist Information

Some grades and sessions may already be full when applications open to new campers. While each summer is different, applicants in the top 10 on the waitlist generally have a good chance of a spot becoming available. However, movement of the waitlist depends on cancellations, which can vary by grade and sessions. Some grades/sessions will have no cancellations while others may move through the entire waitlist.

Staying on the Waitlist

It is important to keep us updated on your plans while your camper is on the waitlist. Your camper may remain on the waitlist right up until the session begins. If you make alternate plans and no longer need a spot, please let the Camp Office know so we can remove your camper from the waitlist.

Waitlist Movement

Cancellations can happen daily, but we typically see the most movement in March and April, around our camper payment deadlines. If a space becomes available for your daughter, we will contact you as soon as possible and give you as much notice as we can.

When Openings Become Available

Please make sure we can reach you. Keep your contact information up to date and make sure your voicemail is set up and has space to receive messages. If we try to reach you and your voicemail box is full or not set up, we will move on to the next person on the waitlist. If you will be traveling or difficult to reach, please contact the Camp Office with the best way to reach you. If you communicate that you will be harder to reach, we will hold spots for a few days while we attempt to reach out, but if we do not get a response from you, we will move on the next person on the watilist.

Up until one month before a session begins, families will have 48 hours to respond to an available space. Within one month of the session, we will continue down the waitlist until we reach a family who is able to accept the opening. Please understand this allows us to fill last-minute spaces quickly while giving families as much time as possible to prepare.

Planning Ahead

If you are on the waitlist we recommend making sure your child has had a physical within one year of their anticipated session start date. This can make it much easier to accept a last-minute opening if one becomes available.

Camp Huckins Refund/Cancellation Policy

The application fee due when you accept your camp spot is non-refundable. Payment of camp fees is due in two installments. The first half is due March 1. The balance is due by May 1. If full payment is not received by May 1, you will be charged a $150 late. If you need to cancel your camper’s registration, please notify the Registrar as soon as possible. Camp Huckins has a no-refund policy for camp fees after May 1st. Camp will look at cancellations on a case by case basis until May 1st to determine if a refund may be considered.

No refunds will be issued if your camper leaves for any reason (voluntary or not) during a session.

Four Week Campers- if your camper is accepted for four weeks and you cancel two weeks you will forfeit one $200 application fee.
